Before running down our hospitals and health system, people should look at what is on offer to similar countries around the world. The NHS system in the UK and the USA health system is certainly nowhere near our free healthcare system. I appreciate our system is not perfect but there are far too many public servants employed in administration roles running our system from a capital city
The public servants get extremely good pay plus flexi-time plus great super benefits and certainly do not give value for money. Each time more funding is given to the health department, up goes the number of clerical staff, who are not known for their efficient level of service.
Perhaps if governments stopped employing so many overpaid and inefficient public servants and put the money saved into real healthcare staff ie doctors and nurses our system would improve
